Training Notes

These kits are ideal for a variety of installations because of the following features.

  • The panel is very slim and discrete
    • Since the panel is only 40mm wide it can often be installed onto the door jamb
    • The panel comes with a 45% mounting bracket allowing the panel to be rotated towards the door (and therefore the visitor)
    • The panel comes with a rain hood
    • You should bear in mind that this is a budget system and that even though the panel is robust it should not be sited in very exposed locations. Use the SRS doorpoint system for those applications

  • The phone is an attractive white unit
    • Intercom between telephones is available automatically when you add a 2nd or 3rd telephone to the system
    • The power supply (provided with the kit) is connected to the telephone(s). Therefore mains power will be required in the vicinity. The power cable can be extened, so that the power supply can be installed in a discrete location

  • The connections are simple
    • Only 2 wire from panel to telephone
    • 2 wires from telephone to lock release (via a suitable power supply)

Cable Requirements

  • Power is provided to the system from a small plug in power supply (adapter).
  • The power supply has a 2 metre cable which should be connected to the telephone.
  • You may extend the power cable up to 15 metres
  • Only 2 wires are required between the telephone and the entrance panel
  • If a lock release is required you will need an additional 2 wires for this and a suitable power supply as shown in the diagram below.
  • For further information about various locking arrangements please see the wiring diagram
