Magnetic Locking

Magnetic locking is broken down into two types. Direct pull and shear magnetic locks.

  • With direct pull magnetic locks the armature plate (locking plate) is pulled towards the electro magnet using electro magnetic force.
  • Shear magnetic locks pull the armature plate towards the magnet, which then locates locjking pins into slots on the magnet, thus preventing release.

All magnetic locks are fail safe devices. This means if power is removed, the lock will open. Click here for connection information.
